San Diego Film Commission The Film Commission is staffed by wonderfully friendly people who work really hard to make your shooting experience all it can be. There are no permit fees for shooting in San Diego and the Commission has set up a great hotel discount program. If you're shooting in Baja a call to the Film Commission will smooth the way on both sides of the border.
San Diego chapter of the MCA-I The monthly meetings of the local MCA-i chapter is a great place to meet professionals in the film and video business. The MCA-i is also a great resource to find qualified professionals who can get the job done. You can also join the MCA-i and become a part of this terrific organization.
San Diego Filmmakers A local group for independent filmmakers that was started by a few of Video Gear Rental's customers who met in the Video Gear warehouse after hours. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday evening every month and are attended by 80 to over 100 people on a regular basis.
San Diego Screenwriters Association This is our local screenwriters group that conducts seminars and workshops to improve the skills of writers at all levels. The monthly meetings are free.
North County Videomakers The NCV club is an unique blend of professional and hobbyist video producers. The monthly meetings promote the development of production skills and showcase projects the members have produced or worked on.
Media Arts Center The Media Arts Center sponsors the annual Latino Film Festival and conducts workshops for film makers on a monthly basis. This is a wonderful resource for students and aspiring film makers.
