Rental Policy

Call Us

If you haven't called our office and discussed your project with one of our Production Consultants, now is the time to do so; (858) 356-0200. We can help you determine the rental period that best fits your production schedule while maintaining your budget.

Rental Schedule

If you need to rent equipment for two days or more, the daily rental rate is reduced on a sliding scale so you pay less and less for each additional rental day. The second day's rental is 25% less than the first day and the 3rd day is 50% less than the first day. We have a special rate for week long rentals too.

Students: Bring your student ID and get a two day weekend rental for a one day charge.

Weekend Rental Pick-up & Return

Pick up on Friday after 2:00pm and return Monday morning by 10:30am all for only one rental day charge. Need to shoot Friday too? Pick up your equipment Thursday after 2:00pm and you can shoot all day Friday for Half Price. That's 3 full days and 4 nights of shooting for a one and a half day charge. (Pick up and drop off times strictly adheared to for this special offer. Additional charges will apply for late returns.)

Weekday Rental Pick-up & Return

Let's say your shoot is on Tuesday and you are starting really early. You can pick up your rental Monday after 2:00pm, shoot all day Tuesday, and return Wednesday morning by 11:00am and still be charged for only one day. If your shoot schedule doesn't fit the above scenario, don't worry, just call and give us your schedule and we'll help you figure out the number of rental days. Most producers are surprised by how reasonable our rental periods are.

Putting Your Equipment on Hold

Before your production begins, figure out what you need and when you need it, and then call or email us. You can put equipment on hold, with no obligation, while you plan the logistics for your production. If all you need is a quote for your budget, that's fine. Call and we'll help you figure out an equipment budget.

Production Insurance

If you have production insurance, ask your insurance broker to fax us a Certificate of Insurance. Video Gear® should be named as loss payee and additional insured. If you need short term insurance, there are several companies that offer short term insurance at reasonable rates. Give us a call and we can fax or email you a list of brokers. For rental of equipment with a replacement value below 5,000 you can be self-insured by using a credit card to secure the equipment. If you're not sure what to do about insurance, give us a call and we'll offer you some options.

Please Bring...

On the day of your rental bring your driver's license and credit card to the Video Gear® office. There is some paperwork to sign and you should spend a few minutes checking through your order. Make sure you have gels, gaff tape, and other expendables so you're not caught short. Once that's done you're set and ready to go shoot!
